07 Jul the void
From abandonment to the solace of unexpected companions. It’s all one world.
There’s only one way in. Then it’s through.*
Nothing
Nothing wields more power than nothing
Weightless, shapeless
It should bear no threat
A vacuum
A pocket of air only given shape
From the something that surrounds it, but
To do nothing
To say nothing
To be … nothing
Creates something
Something that each morning must be folded up and
carefully put away as if it were nothing
Companions
For I am never alone
Despite my weary heart and my troubled thoughts
The crows flap past and caw from trees behind
The eagles stand in quiet solidarity from their barren perch
The doves coo sympathetic
Robins hop and
My darling darling swallow dashes past me, closer and closer
Skimming past my head and o’er top the creeping tide
Dancing and dipping
Positively leaping with joy to remind me of that which I cannot feel
Reminding me
To be thankful
For I am never alone
Here on this beach
I am never alone
